It ain't paper, it ain't coin - it's funny money (but it is useful)
Not all purchases or fees on the site need to be paid in cold, hard cash. Some races carry bonuses, extra money that is added to the prize pool for that race. These bonuses can sometimes be cash but are more often a site-only currency called Bonus Credits.
Whilst Bonus Credits are worthless off-site they can be used on-site to pay for most expenses apart from Nominations and purchases through Claimers and Auctions. Even if they are only collected in dribs and drabs they can make a reasonable difference to the profitability or otherwise of a stable.
Bonus Credits can also be earned through occasional promotions, site competitions and awards. Awards are given for both stable milestones and also periodically for various categories of achievement.
Where purchases are available by Bonus Credits they will always be used before taking any cash from your site account.
Stable milestones
• 500 runs - every time a stable has 500 runners in Stakes or Rated races a bonus award is given. Each runner will earn a set amount dependent on the type of race and progress can be tracked via the 'Awards' section of the 'My Races' menu.
• 50 wins - for every 50 Stakes race wins achieved by a stable within a single Season a bonus award is given. Any outstanding wins are cleared down at the end of each season. Newbie races and Rated Races do not count for this award. Again progress can be tracked via the 'Awards' section of the 'My Races' menu.
Periodic awards (Stakes races only)
Monthly
• Top Owner by Wins - $100 for the winningmost owner for the month.
• Top Owner by Win/Starts % - $100 for the owner with the highest percentage of wins to starts for the month (minimum 20 runners).
• Top Horse by Wins - $100 for the owner of the winningmost horse for the month.
• Top Horse by Win/Starts % - $100 for the owner of the horse with the highest percentage of wins to starts for the month (minimum 10 races).
Season
• Top Owner by Wins - $200 for the winningmost owner over the entire Season.
• Top Horse by Wins - $200 for the owner of the winningmost horse over the entire Season.
